2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe
GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz today confirmed that the Cadillac CTS-V has been given the green light to enter production next year, in both the coupe and sedan formats. The major upgrades for the Vspec series are simply parts from the Corvette ZR1 strapped on.
Looking around the CTS, this is a very American car. Lots of sharp edges, sharp long lines, horribly tacky looking interior, lots of power ( 556Bhp ) and a rear end that looks like the designers gave up and went home. Ive noticed these types trends a lot in American cars recently and cant quite pick who they are trying to appeal to ? For instance, you wouldnt buy one of these over a new M5 BMW, would you ? I wouldnt buy one of these over a 1989 Toyota Corolla, but thats just me hating on American cars, as I do.
Which brings me to the worst part of this car, and possibly the biggest flaw in all American car design, the rear end. Look at the pictures above. The back of the CTS looks like the back of a 300C Hemi on a slight angle. Why do all American cars look aggresive at the front, average on the side profile and then have an ass that looks like it came from another car, and shouldnt be there ? This is not a new trend in American car design, it has been happening for a while now, here are some more examples.

Not everyone would agree that the rear ends of Americans are broken, some find them very attractive. Those people would also say the ass above is ‘not that fat’
